On Friday and Saturday evenings Mojo is doing two courses for two people for £12.99 so we decided it would be rude not to try it.

The two courses have to be starters and mains and there was certainly quite a range to choose from. I had the potato skins which have been a great favourite of mine since I lived in the US. My companion had soup. The Moroccan chick pea soup looked thick and tomato based and wasn’t too spice apparently.

For mains we stuck to fish and chips and linguine carbonara with garlic bread.

There is no doubt that the two courses were a bargain for what amounts to £6.50 per head. By the time we added in drinks it came to just over £21 without the tip. Everything seemed fresh and flavoursome. I just wish it hadn’t been such a cold day as we would have stayed longer if I’d felt warmer.

I suspect the place is very busy in the evening after 6 but we went before the normal rush hour in restaurants. The piano in the corner is a reminder that there is often live music in the evenings and this must lead to many a pleasant get-together.

Give it a try.
