entwine our lives together,

unite our kinship,

join that institution that confers intimacy and obligation?

Can you protect and honour,

sacrifice and love,

hold and have till death?

Will we endure and grow,

become accustomed and familiar

with every twist and turn?

Can we finally be conventional,

joined not only at the hip but in life,

an enduring  affair of the heart in an impermanent world?
